Washing Symbols

Symbol 4 The wash load symbol tells us the maximum temperature that a garment can be safely washed at and this is indicated by a number in the symbol. For a mixed temperature wash load the lowest temperature on the instructions of the garments should always be used None, one or two dashes under the symbol indicate the amount of agitation suitable for that garment For a mixed agitation wash load the lowest agitation on the instructions of the garments should always be used
Symbol 3 The number in the wash tub shows, the most effective wash temperature in °C. A single bar beneath the wash tub indicates reduced(medium) washing conditions i.e. reduced agitation and spinning. This may be indicated on a washing machine by a synthetics cycle.
Symbol 2 A broken bar beneath the wash tub indicates much reduced (minimum) wash. This may be indicated on a washing machine by a wool wash or delicate cycle.
Symbol 1 DO NOT use chlorine bleach.
Symbol 5 DO NOT iron.
Symbol 6 Iron on COOL setting.
Symbol 7 DO NOT tumble dry
Symbol 8 Tumble dry on LOW heat
Symbol 9 Not suitable for dry cleaning
Symbol 10 Dry clean in perchloroethytene, white spirit, Solvent 113 or Solvent 11
